In My Next Life, I'll Be…

Hubby and the Wishing Well He Built

When I went upstairs last night hubby was watching a “building” show on television. The topic was working with large stones from what I could gather. Hubby said “This is so interesting! In my next life, I’m going to be a builder.” I told him he’d been a builder in this life. His reply…”But I’m going to be a REAL builder.”

That got me to thinking about what we will become in our next life.

When I was little, I thought when we got to heaven, we’d get long white robes, wings, halos, and float around on clouds. Maybe sing in a heavenly chorus.

But I believe that God prepares us throughout our lives for the jobs we will hold in heaven. He is creating all things new and we’ll be part of this exciting new life. It’s beyond comprehension to think of what this will be like. We know there’ll be no more pain, no more suffering, and we’ve been shown glimpses of the beauty to come. I’m sure that we’ll all have jobs to do. I’ve been taught so many things in this life, and though I don’t know what God has planned for me when I get to heaven, I know it will be exciting and rewarding. Maybe my hubby will be a “real” builder! Only God knows.
