Proverbs 3:5-6 (The Message) says: “Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure everything out on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track.”
God gives us all gifts and He opens doors for us, but He allows us to choose which door to walk through. The Holy Spirit resides inside us and that still small voice that says “go” or “stop” is God talking to us. If we have faith, we should not be afraid to step through a door which will be pleasing to Him.
Ecclesiastes 11:4 says “Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.”
Sometimes we become afraid to move and choose to stay in our current situation because it is familiar. When Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, they were joyful, until they were in unfamiliar circumstances. They looked back and longed for the certainty of their days of slavery over the fears of an unknown destiny. They didn’t trust God. If we choose not to make a decision when God presents us with a choice, we fall into the trap of not trusting Him.
Ecclesiastes 11:6 says “Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let not your hands be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.”
God wants us to live a full life and to enjoy our time here on earth. We need to follow what He teaches us through the Scriptures and use the gifts He provides to spread love and help others. We need to boldly and trustingly step through the doors He opens for us when the Holy Spirit tells us to move. As long as we choose a door that is pleasing to Him, we should not fear. God will never call us to do something without equipping us with the tools to succeed. We must remember that God can create beauty out of ashes.
