Before I left, she put some strawberry cobbler in a container for me to bring home. She’s that kind of friend!
However, when I returned home, I discovered she had not only placed the container in a plastic bag but she’d tied it. Not once, but in a true knot. Though I tried, I could not untie that knot and had to cut the bag to retrieve the wonderful confection inside.
This reminded me of how we sometimes hide things we don’t want others to know about us. We knot them up and try to forget about them. We are ashamed or guilt ridden, but no matter how tight the knot, the truth cannot be hidden from God.
He is very good at untying knots! He works in our lives, changing us until we ask for forgiveness. Then He makes quick work of releasing the knots and letting the Light fill all those dark spaces. God forgives. He is merciful.
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” I John 1:9 (NKJV)
