Christmas Eve my family joins me for the candlelight service at church. This is the highlight of the season for me. It’s the time to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.
When my children were smaller, we would come home after the candlelight service and light candles on an earlier baked cake and sing happy birthday to baby Jesus.
Christmas morning, like most families, we gathered together to see what the pretty wrapped packages under the tree held. We didn’t have a lot of discretionary money, but we managed to have a lot of love wrapped into those packages, many of which were handmade. Hot chocolate tasted better on Christmas than any other day of the year, except maybe the night we chose and cut down our tree.
I don’t have children at home now. In fact it is just me. But I still love Christmas and there is something very comforting and heartwarming in pulling out these memories of Christmases past.
I have a gift for those of you who are reading this. Today, December 9 through 11:00 am EST on December 12, all four of my Havens Creek Series ebook titles are on sale for only $.99 each on Amazon. You don’t need a Kindle. You can get a free Kindle app for your tablet, smart phone, or computer.
Merry Christmas from my heart to yours.
