Looking Through My Blessing Basket

Photo-Sep-23-7-49-15-AM-e1379942597511-225x300My blessing basket is overflowing. Counting blessings is a good way to put things into perspective. When I feel disheartened, all I need to do is read through the blessings to turn my focus away from negatives and focus on the good things in my life.

After losing my husband, I read an article about beginning a blessing basket. That’s when I started mine. After time began to heal the intense grief, I forgot about the basket.

Recently, I pulled it out and put it in plain sight so I’d remember to fill it with joyful blessings I receive. Truthfully, this is a wonderful way to see how blessings fill our days.

Reading through a basket or jar filled blessings on a down day can lift your spirits!

Lifting my cup of tea to wish you a blessed day. Do you keep a blessing basket or jar? If not, you might want to give it a try.

Blessings,

  1. Wow! This really inspired me today Carol. Thank you. I have been grumbling about things which are out of my realm of control and really, none of my business, concerning a semi-coworker issue.

THIS…is a wonderful way to put those things to rest and renew my mind and spirit. I am encouraged each time I see you on FB or drop in over here.

I loved the one with your Mom and Dad’s picture too. Reminds me of mine and I have a refrigerator “decorated” like that and I live alone! I am thankful for memories for those too are often blessings.

Have a wonderful day at your spot on the map.

    • Thanks, Brenda! I understand how easily it is to get caught up in the “little” stones in our path. I love looking at my older pictures. My mom’s refrigerator is one of my fondest memories! I loved visiting and seeing what new things might have been added. May your day be full of love and blessings.

  2. You are such an inspiration to me. You always lift my spirit when I’m down. I think I wil start a blessing basket. Love you.❤

    • Yes, Sis. I think a blessing basket will help you. Each blessing you add will be a wonderful memory to read in the future. It’s such a good way to realize our blessings are more than our troubles. Love you!
