This is going to be a crazy day for Americans. Today is the official voting day and the political scene has been total chaos for too long. It’s sad so many have taken the freedom of speech so far as to bash and batter others in a public forum. As a voter with a mind, I would much prefer to hear what the candidates have to say about their platform AND about how they plan to make their ideas fruitful. Let me make up my own mind.
As for all the bashing, it is hateful, spiteful, and shameful. I’m a Christian and I don’t believe Christians should resort to this kind of politics. So how do we believe any candidate who allows a smear campaign?
Of course, none of this matters. I believe God has already planned out our future. He will make sure the candidate He chose, no matter the reason, will be put into office. I don’t put my trust in any human being. I put my trust in God. No matter what happens, He is the One I believe and the only One who is capable of turning our country around.
We would do better to use our mouths in prayer instead of publicly voicing our opinions about the candidates. I’ve not only grown sick of the television ads, but also of the negativity on Facebook. Seems everyone has a need to vent their political views and stir public social media debates.
Some people are getting physically and mentally sick over what might happen next! God tells us not to worry. My favorite scriptures when worry creeps into my mind:
Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.May God’s will be done.”
Matthew 6:34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
And that is the extent of my thoughts this morning on the political arena. May you have a blessed and worry free day!
