Carol, this was beautiful. My sister and I have our father's Bibles and treasure them, too. He was a pastor for 40 years, and his Bibles are frayed and marked in his then-strong hand. A treasure of God's Word and Dad's words. Thanks for sharing!

This is great inspiration. I recently discovered that if in addition to relying upon the Holy Spirit, I also set a schedule to write my fiction at the same time every weekday. It becomes a habit and I don't even have to think about doing it. I write immediately after lunch each day. And I write for about 45 minutes. Yesterday my protagonist finally met the romantic interest in the story and it was really exciting for me to have finally reached that part of the my book.

Mary, thanks so much for being a guest on my blog. I'm one of your greatest fans, and I can attest to BURIED TREASURES being a great story. I enjoyed how you wove the three M's together. I laughed at your daughter's reaction to seeing a younger picture of you! Life is a patchwork indeed, and there are many solitary moments along the way. Thanks again!

Mary... I so relate to your "3 M's" analogy, and the hundred percent commitment (most often alone) it takes to succeed with them. However, as I look back, it now occurs to me that we never would have become the people we are called to be without having been "forged" by the fires of those solitary times. And how clear it seems, now, that the greater the effort, the greater were the rewards for having "gone the distance."

Love your perspective, and very much looking forward to reading BURIED TREASURES!

And, hello, Carol Ann... so nice to see your smiling face every time I visit here!
