Happy 2022!

I’ve learned that the new year comes into being without my support. One of the things with aging is the need to go to bed earlier, even if it means short bursts of sleep mingled with bathroom visits. I slept right through the singing of Auld Lang Syne, the ball dropping, and all those kisses. I only miss kisses.

At 12:15am my cat, Templeton woke me to wish me a happy new year. I thanked him, made one of those bathroom visits and then slid between the nice warm covers and fell asleep.

I woke to the sound of rain. I’m so tired of dark, dreary days. I need a little sunshine! It rained all day on the first day of 2022 here in my little homestead area. Okay, let me give you an example. I looked out the large window on my front porch and a slimy slug was trying to draw a picture on it! Honestly! I was so disgusted. Grabbing a paper towel, I snatched him off the window and tossed him into the flower bed. Shudder.

And the worst part? I had to maneuver between all kinds of worms who’d decided my porch was the place to be safe from drowning!

But today was better. Only a few snow showers after church. And now the temperature has dropped below freezing. Bet those worms wish they’d stayed home instead of freezing on my concrete porch.

As 2022 comes into being, I’ve decided to make changes to the blog. I want to be honest about my aging process, but to do it with a little humor. I’ve also come out of retirement with my writing and have allowed my books to be purchased again on Amazon. I’m in the process of writing an autobiography for my family because I want to capture life in what are my good old days. I’m also going to finish an inspirational novel I abandoned a few years ago.

With aging, and being a widow, the inflation process is hitting me a little harder than some. I have a back that troubles me if I stand for any period of time, so working outside the home is a problem. Well, and let’s face it. No one wants to hire a wrinkled old lady to be a receptionist.

God gave me a gift of writing. He gave me a means of bringing in additional income if I work hard at using this gift. I have the time and I have the tools. If you are interested in reading inspirational romantic suspense, check out my books page. All are available on Amazon. Just go to Amazon and type in my full name. They’ll pop up with more information.

Wishing you all a blessed and beautiful 2022. May your day be filled with happy thoughts, smiles, and humor. Until next time…
