Can’t We Just Be Kind?

Yesterday someone posted a very nasty and mean comment on a coloring channel I watch. The content made no sense at all. It was very hurtful and I believe meant to be hurtful. My heart ached not only for the person it was directed to, but also for the person who wrote it.

Shortly after the person deleted the comment and then wrote: “Sorry, wrong channel.”

Didn’t matter. This person was still directing hate towards someone. And the damage had already been done.

I don’t understand why we can’t be kind. Even in disagreeing, we can use kindness. At least in my opinion.

Our world is filled with anger, and people who have low self esteem. This then is unleashed on anyone within hearing distance. With the internet and social media platforms the hearing distance is unlimited.

So today I am praying for this person who has such a hard heart and others like her. I’m praying for a lost world. Praying for the good people, the kind people, the believers who are in the line of fire these days.

  1. Praying with you. Proverbs 11:17 says “Those who are kind benefit themselves, but the cruel bring ruin on themselves.”
